EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEER GRANTS

There are thousands of different issues and causes close to many employees’ hearts, such as mental illness and NAMI. Many give countless hours to help worthy organizations. Many employers applaud their commitment and support their efforts with an Employee Volunteer Grant program. This program awards small grants to the nonprofit organizations where the employees regularly dedicate their volunteer hours.

Employees from many different employers volunteer thousands of hours for NAMI each year. To honor those who give their time and service to NAMI and other eligible charitable organizations, civic minded employer awards grants, which are up to certain dollar amounts per employee for each calendar year and are made in the name of the associate, to the NAMI or the eligible charitable organization they designate.

How does it work?

An unrestricted grant is made to NAMI Massachussetts or another eligible charitable organization for which an employee has committed substantial volunteer hours within a calendar year:

Qualified organizations must have a charitable status and serve communities in the areas of interest designated by the employer.

  • Employees must log their hours through the either a website or the human resources department and have the recipient organization verify the hours served. This information must be received by a certain date after the year in which the hours were completed
  • Employees that log sufficient hours to an eligible organization within the Employer website portal or the human resources department will be notified that these hours could potentially qualify for a volunteer grant.

Please review all Employer program rules and restrictions prior to submission of any application.

Contact your Employer’s Human Resources Department for more information.
